Cyberwar

Tapping into the geopolitics of hacking and surveillance, Ben Makuch travels the world to meet with hackers, government officials, and dissidents to investigate the ecosystem of cyberwarfare.

The opening sequence explores the concept of how the landscape of our society is increasingly being digitally manipulated. This is represented in a very literal way as we pull pixels through the real world using projection mapping, meticulous tracking and rotoscoping. The franticly paced opening travels from Wall Street and Los Angeles to Iran, North Korea, China and Dubai with many stops along the way.
The marketing, show package and opening all "show how the real world is being fucked with digitally"(Spike Jonze) without relying on overused and cliché 'glitch' effects. This approach is more difficult than you might think when dealing with cyber warfare.
